eDiscovery Tool: 1.2.0

  • Cluster Classifying: You are now able to assign a new Classification value to a given result set with the eDiscovery Tool. To set a single value, simply right-click on the item in question and "Set classification on selected items". You will then get a pop-up dialog in which you can enter the new Classification value you want. Click "Set Classification" to commit the change. Note that this new Classification is now set in the Shinydrive Index for this given item. If you wish to assign a new Classification value to ALL displayed items, follow this same process, except select "Set classification on all displayed results". If you wish to assign a new Classification on a sub-set of the displayed results, use the standard Windows interface/keyboard shortcuts for selecting those that you want. Then "Set classification on selected items" to assign a new value as above. (Ref: SD-2788, SD-2790, SD-2856, SD-2867)
  • Search Filter: Near the top of the eDiscovery Windows is a Search Filter section that is hidden by default. Simply click on the "^" icon to open it (and conversely click "V" to close it). In here you can select "Only display items with no classification" to filter the display to those that have no Classification value. You can also "Only display items with confidence greater than / greater than or equals / equals / less than / less than or equals (select one) and enter a value between 0 and 1. You may need to press the Search button or Tab out of this field to trigger the Search that shows the filtered result.
  • Improved Layout: We have improved the layout of the eDiscovery Tool. There are additional columns for Classification (the Classification value that has been assigned to the item), Confidence (a rating from 0 to 1 of what the confidence is in the Classification), Score (this is a relative score returned by the Index in response to a given Search) and Extracted Text (a Yes/No value indicating if there is any Extracted Text in the Index for this item. Note that for a given result set (by default this is 100 files), you can sort by any of the columns shown just by clicking on them. Click on the column again to reverse the sort order.

See the Shinydrive Windows Client Installation page for details on how to enable this feature. (Ref: SD-1624)

(Ref: SD-1057)

See the Shinydrive Windows Client Installation page for details on how to enable this feature. (Ref: SD-712)
  • A desktop user is able add files without worrying about the total size of their cache: Once enabled by a Registry Key, Shinydrive will monitor the size of the user's cache – whenever they add a file that will exceed their cache size, the oldest cached files are automatically removed from the cache, making room for the new file. Press Enter, or click the magnifying glass icon to perform the search. In the results list, when you click on a document, it will open in a Preview Pane, from which you can then click "Open" to open the file for editing, or click "Browse" to open the containing folder in Shinydrive. See the Shinydrive Windows Client Installation page for details on how to enable this feature. (Ref: SD-659)

Note though that since these are not real folders in Content Server, you cannot create new documents directly within them, nor can you create new folders within them. (Ref: SD-749, SD-750)

Shinydrive Outlook Version: 1.0.412.2003

  • Virtual Folder Support: Virtual Folders as described above are also supported within the Shinydrive Outlook Add-In Shinydrive Pane.
  • Outlook Filters: The Shinydrive Outlook Add-In now includes a Filter at the top of the Shinydrive Pane. After you have selected a Shinydrive Drive within the Pane (or ideally, a folder within a drive to limit the scope – which will speed up searching), if you click in the text box to the left of the word "Filter" and start typing the name of a document or folder you are looking for, the Filter will search as you type for what you are looking for. The time required to complete a search depends on the amount of data you are searching (hence, searching within a folder is a good idea). You can abort a search at any time simply by clicking the "X" button on the right. In the results list, you can perform all Records Management functions that you can normally perform with Shinydrive. (Ref: SD-772)
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue with the previously existing right-click "Copy to Shinydrive…" and "Move to Shinydrive…" options which were disabled in the 1.0.400.1960 release. These are now functioning properly and are back in the Outlook Add-In. (Ref: SD-733)

Unchanged: Shinydrive Office, Shiny App Finder, Shiny Shutdown

May 30, 2016:

Client Version: 1.0.400.1960

  • FIPS Compliance: The Shinydrive data model is now FIPS Compliant. (Ref: SD-736)
  • Copy Records Management URL to Clipboard: This feature, introduced in the previous build, now leverages the "ContextMenuTitle" Registry Key, which is set to "Records Management" by default (so by default this fly-out will now say "Copy Records Management URL to Clipboard"). If you want this to instead reference "Content Server", just update this Registry Key to that value. For those who do not want to see this fly-out at all, simply create a new HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Shinydrive String value of ShowCopyURL and set this to "false". (Ref: SD-738, SD-739).
  • Environment Variable Support: Shinydrive now features support for Windows Environment Variables for use with User-Led Migration in your file share path. So (for example), a variable such as "Share_Name" can be set for a given user as an Environment Variable, and then referenced in the cs-rest.properties file as smb://machinename/%SHARE_NAME%. (Ref: SD-286)
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where the "Records Management" fly-out would show up for non-Content Server objects – it no longer shows up for these objects. (Ref: SD-724).

Shinydrive Outlook Version: 1.0.400.1960

  • Above Improvements included here also.
  • Disabled Right-Click Copy/Move to Shinydrive: Note that the previously existing right-click "Copy to Shinydrive…" and "Move to Shinydrive…" options have been disabled in this release. We are working on a fix for this, which we expect out in the next release. Drag-and-Drop still works as expected.

Unchanged: Content Server Module (CS10, CS10.5, CS16), Shinydocs Drivers, Shinydrive Office, Shiny App Finder, Shiny Shutdown

May 17, 2016:

Client Version: 1.0.390.1942

  • Copy Content Server URL to Clipboard: Introduced a new option on the Records Management Fly-Out Menu that allows you to quickly copy the link to a selected file or folder to your Clipboard. You can then paste this link within a Web Browser to quickly open that file or folder, or paste into an email (for example) to send this information to someone else. (Ref: SD-489, SD-715)
  • Shinydrive Log File: Introduced a new log file that is automatically saved in your Windows /Users/<username>/AppData/Roaming/shinydrive/log folder. Contains a history of all notifications reported by the Shinydrive System Tray Icon. Useful for verifying what events did/did not occur on a given system.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue with saving Visio files, whereby sometimes even though the save was successful, it was reported in Visio as a corrupt file. (Ref: SHINY-101, SD-701)
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue with saving Excel files with the .CSV extension – these files were sometimes reported as being corrupted. (Ref: SHINY-57)

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue if someone attempts to startup a 2nd Shinydrive instance if logged in via SSO. (Ref: SD-649, SHINY-44)

March 29, 2016:

Client Version: 1.0.346.1821

  • Maximum File Size: Introduced the new parameter MaxFileSize which sets the maximum file size for any upload. Default is 50 MB, but can be modified by a Shinydrive Administrator to any value (up to 1.2 GB). Prevents any file from being uploaded to Content Server via Shinydrive that is above this size limit.
  • Inherit User Settings from Global Parameters: Introduced the new ability for any Shinydrive Parameter, normally set in a users HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry entries, to be "inherited" from the same-named parameter in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE values. This is useful for deployments, where the tool used for pushing out registry entries, cannot set HKEY_CURRENT_USER values, but can set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE values. (Ref: SD-398)
  • Icon Overlay if File Not in Content Server: This new feature implements an icon overlay in Windows Explorer for any file that does not exist in Content Server (uses the exclamation mark overlay). This would most typically highlight any file of a type that is in the cs-rest.properties "Forbidden" list (and thus never uploaded to Content Server via Shinydrive), or is too large (and not uploaded via Shinydrive).
  • Bug Fix: Move the ShinyShutdown handler out of the main view model because that doesn't get instantiated during an SSO login.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed a bug related to deleting and restoring a folder.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue whereby after deleting a folder, if you navigated away from it, then back again, the folder would sometimes reappear. (Ref: SD-645)

March 16, 2016:

Client Version: 1.0.331.1768

  • Bug Fix: Fixed various date/time issues encountered when editing an Excel document, typically encountered when editing a large or complex (internally cross-referenced) Excel file, or if rapidly opening/closing the same Excel file, due to the way Excel handles dates while editing a file. (Ref: SD-174, SD-482)
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where if a Network Password is changed for a Shinydrive user with "Automatically connect at login" enabled, they cannot log into Shinydrive. (Ref: SD-584)

February 24, 2016:

Client Version: 1.0.315.1670

  • Separate Drivers from Windows Client: Previously, the Shinydrive drivers and Windows client were always combined into a single MSI. This meant that whenever someone needed to update their Shinydrive client, they had to also update their drivers (which almost never changed), which required a reboot of their PC. This change was to separate these into 2 packages, so that we can update them separately: ShinydocsDriverMSI64|32 and ShinydriveMSI64|32. Now when we just update the Windows client (ShinydriveMSI64|32), a reboot of each user's PC is not required.
  • Added Shinydrive Pane for Outlook Introduced the new optional Shinydrive Outlook package: ShinydriveOutlookMSI64|32, which had initial support for email objects in Outlook via a Shinydrive "Pane" which they can be dragged to. Included duplicate name detection, which will increment email subject names.

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue with email objects in Content Server not showing up in the Shinydrive Desktop Client. (Ref: SD-413)
  • Bug Fix: Critical fix for missing shinydrive cache data folder on new Shinydrive installations.
  • Bug Fix: Initial fixes for various time/date issues encountered when editing an Excel document, typically encountered when editing a large or complex (internally cross-referenced) Excel file, or if rapidly opening/closing the same Excel file, due to the way Excel handles dates while editing a file. (Ref: SD-174, SD-482)
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue with Windows Update and msi installers creating temporary install folders named MSI*.tmp in the root directory that remained after the install. (Ref: SD-387)
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where some users were having issues mounting their Shinydrive drives. The fix was to retry on a failure up to 3 times, with a 5 second delay between retries. (Ref: SD-481)
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where a Table Key Lookup would fail if dependent values contain any UTF-8 characters (such as ä, ö and ü, for example). (Ref: SD-476)
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue with the Shinydrive Office "Reserve/Unreserve" functionality where a user could inadvertently save a new version without being aware of it (if they intended to open in Read-Only mode). (Ref: SD-408)

February 2, 2016:

  • Single Sign-On Support: Single Sign-On (SSO) support for Windows Active Directory users.
  • Reserve/Unreserve: Automatic reserve and unreserve functionality for the optional Shinydrive Office package.
  • Nested Volume Objects: Support for business workspaces and other nested Volume objects.
  • Support for UTF-8 Characters in File/Folder Names when using Shinydrive web client: Allow the use of special characters (such as ä, ö and ü, for example) in file and/or folder names. (Ref: SD-391)
  • Bug Fix: After pushing out the new Client, fixed an issue with Shinydrive attempting to automatically connect on login on first use, even if "Automatically connect on login" is not checked and Username and Password are blank. (Ref: SD-415)

  • Support for CAD Manager Files: Read and add version support for Content Server's proprietary CAD Document type. (Ref: SD-411)
